Fabulous

Bouganvilla dreaming today thanks to these ladies and http://schiershoes.com/

Sapeurs

I stumbled across this photo of a man in a pink suit with red accessories on http://www.africandaydreams.com/index.html and was immediately captivated.  He is a "sapeur" from the Congo, a man who used fashion as a form of civil disobedience during the authoritarian regime of Mobutu Sese Seko.  Researching these men and gazing at their wild outfits reminded me not only of the importance of freedom of expression, but of fashion and individual style as well.

Daniele Tamagni photographed many of these men and you can buy the book on amazon.

Sauvie Island Strawberry Picking

Summer's arrival feels over the top amazing.  We went strawberry picking on Sauvie Island to celebrate the sunny day and despite being momentarily bummed out that the farms peonies were already dying I really couldn't have been happier.  Next year I will go earlier!

What am I going to make with all those strawberries?

Jackie O

I love this photo of Jackie O found on http://iloveyourstyle.com/, Amanda Brook's blog.  Turq and red perfection!

Americana Wedding

I know I already blogged about this wedding but I just saw the professional shots and I couldn't help myself.  This was the backyard wedding of one of Ryan's best friends and I love how the bride and her mom decorated the place with a rustic americana theme.  It doesn't hurt that ladders and crates are two of my favorite design elements.

Inspired by Claire Courtin-Clarins

I love this long Tucker dress but you kinda have to commit to it if your going to put it on, it's not exactly an under the radar piece.  Usually I'm happiest in jeans and a t-shirt but all the shots of Claire Courtin-Clarins flawlessly pulling off the look had me inspired.

My favorite way to wear something like this is with a skinny belt, simple jewelry and heeled sandals as seen below.

Buds at Dusk

The roses in Washington Park are so delicious I can't stand it!

Oregon Coast Day Trip

It wasn't the warmest June day I've ever experienced but seeing the coast for the first time in month's did take my breath away.   We spent the day exploring little towns and searching for hidden cove's,  in the end discovering a favorite secret spot to return to.

Shabby Chic

Enjoying the last of my wilting peony.

Heidi Middleton's House

Do you read http://talesofendearment.com/?  I absolutely love stalking the style profiles Natalie puts up.    Below are some detail shots from the profile she did on Heidi Middleton of Sass and Bide.  I love how she mixes ethnic pieces into what is a very fancy and modern house.  As for the last shot, I love that they took a pic of her lounging in a bathtub in her neon pants...so much personality!

see http://talesofendearment.com/a-colorful-history/ for the rest of the piece.
